Attorney Susan C. Schill

Attorney Susan C. Schill is a 1991 graduate of Marquette University Law School. Her practice is concentrated in the areas of divorce, custody, adoption and family law; employment and benefits law, landlord/tenant law, civil appeals, and general civil practice.

Ms. Schill is also the elected, part-time City Attorney for the City of Wisconsin Rapids, and has served the City in that capacity since May 2002; she maintains her private practice at Panek Schill & Gebert LLP, however.

A lifelong Wisconsin Rapids resident, Ms. Schill continues her sports interests which began while a student at Assumption High School, of which she is a 1984 graduate. Recently, Assumption inducted her into the inaugural class of its Athletic Hall of Fame. She was the only female so honored. After high school, Ms. Schill received a basketball scholarship to attend Marquette University. She graduated with an undergraduate degree in 1988 from Marquette, and is a member of its “M” Club for varsity letter winners.

Ms. Schill presently serves on the boards of directors of Wisconsin Judicare, Inc. (a legal services corporation for low-income individuals), and Wisconsin Rapids Career Closet, Inc. (a nonprofit organization which provides career and work clothing to low-income individuals.) Ms. Schill recently completed terms on the boards of directors of Wood County Head Start, Inc., and Wisconsin Rapids Family Center, Inc.

Ms. Schill participates in the Lawyer Referral and Information Service through the State Bar of Wisconsin, and has volunteered as an advisor and judge at high school mock trial tournaments.

In a published case, Ms. Schill successfully argued in front of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in Chicago to affirm a district court decision regarding employee health insurance and subrogation.

Ms. Schill is a member of the Wood County Bar Association and the State Bar of Wisconsin, and is a member of the General Practice Section, Employment Law Section, and Family Law Section of the State Bar of Wisconsin. She is also a member of the State Bar’s Government Lawyers Division.

In addition to being admitted to practice in all circuit courts in Wisconsin, Ms. Schill is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, the United States District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit.
